Riyadh’s Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Arts Hall is currently hosting its annual Summer Exhibition, and this year’s edition is as thought-provoking as ever. Organised by the Misk Art Institute and free to the public, the show features 43 Saudi and Saudi-based artists whose work reflects personal and collective stories shaped by heritage, nostalgia, resilience and the shifting tides of identity.
Titled The Intergenerational Lens of Social Change, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the influence of family history, elders’ wisdom and communal values, and how these shape the evolution of culture. Through mixed media installations, contemporary painting, and experimental formats, artists challenge viewers to reconsider tradition and modernity in the context of social change.
Now in its third year, the summer exhibition has quickly become a key platform for emerging and established artists alike. From language and symbolism to the aesthetics of migration and memory, the works on display blend artistic experimentation with deep-rooted storytelling.
