Saudi Arabia is stepping up its commitment to active living with the official rollout of a major health campaign designed to transform casual walking into a massive collective milestone.
Organised by the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), the newly launched campaign invites residents nationwide to log their movement on the SFA mobile app, with the unified ambition of accumulating a staggering 10 billion steps by the end of December 2026. Aligned with the health and wellness objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, the multi-month initiative frames physical fitness not as a rigid routine requiring specialised training or dedicated facilities, but as an accessible habit seamlessly woven into the fabric of everyday life; whether that be taking the steps at work, walking during school breaks, or moving around the home.
Supporting the pillars of Vision 2030, the campaign slogan "Don't Count Your Steps... Let Them Count," this new fitness orientated campaign redefines how wellness is integrated into daily schedules.

Rather than expecting participants to dedicate long hours to intense gym workouts, the SFA is encouraging people to realise that fitness is already taking place in their routine activities. Through the official SFA digital platform, users can effortlessly sync their devices to log their daily steps, track personal progress against community metrics, and opt into friendly milestone challenges. By gamifying this fitness-focussed movement, the platform seeks to lower the barrier to entry for individuals of all fitness levels.
The broader vision focuses on shifting public perception: physical activity does not require huge investment in specialised athletic gear or expensive gym memberships, but simply a conscious effort to keep moving throughout the day. Underscoring the community-wide drive behind the initiative, SFA President His Highness Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal highlighted that meaningful public health improvements begin with manageable, shared habits. He noted that the initiative serves as an open invitation for every individual across the Kingdom to take part in a single, unified goal, emphasising that building a more dynamic society starts with incremental daily choices that ultimately elevate overall quality of life.

Echoing this sentiment, SFA Managing Director Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini stressed the practical, technology-driven approach of the initiative. Speaking to SRMG news outlet Asharq Al-Awsat, she said, "The 10 Billion Steps initiative shows that every beginning can be simple, and that physical activity is already part of our daily lives more than we realize. Every step we take at work, at school, at home, or elsewhere can contribute to achieving a shared national goal and help build healthier, more sustainable habits. Our message to everyone is clear: ‘Your steps count.’"
